Domains and Strengths
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses in the world. Those strengths can fit into four different domains. Those domains are Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, and Strategic Thinking. I have taken a test to tell me what my top five strengths are. They are, in order from one to five, Achiever, Competition, Learner, Focus, and Restorative. All fives of these strengths really do describe me. So let me tell you more about these five strengths.
Achiever
Achievers have a constant drive. They have a constant need for accomplishment. They are the type of people that make lists to get to their goal. Achiever is categorized in the Executing domain. For me this applies in track & field because I always need to accomplish more. Being an achiever makes me have this drive to accomplish everything I set my mind to. This also applies in school for the same reasons. I need to accomplish whatever my mind is set to.
Competition
Competition is for people who always compare themselves to others. Competitors are always aware of how others perform and how they do. Competitors always strive to be the best of the best. Competition is categorized in the Influencing domain. For me this applies in track & field because I always have to be the best of the best. I hate losing, I always have to win. This also applies in school for the same reasons. I always need to compete and win those competitions.
Learner
Learners always have a process to follow in order to achieve their goal. They love to learn and can never get enough knowledge. Learner is categorized in the Strategic Thinking domain. For me this applies in track & field because I always strive to learn more about my form. Being a learner helps me learn more about what ever I want to know. This also applies in school for the same reasons. I need to learn more to get further in life.
Focus
Focus always has a clear destination in mind. They are frustrated without an ending in sight. Focus is categorized in the Executing domain. For me this applies in track & field because I always accomplish what I always put my focus on. I hate not knowing what the end has in sight. This also applies in school for the same reasons. I have great focus when I need to thanks to this strength.
Restorative
Restorative are problem solvers. They love to solve problems. Solving problems energize restorative. Restorative is categorized in the Executing domain. For me this applies in track & field because I solve the problems that I have when throwing. This also can apply in school for just about everything. School is about learning and solving problems.
Reflections
This showed me how the different domains worked. This also showed me what the different domains were good at. What I found that was really cool was how my main group the executing group was the most organized. And being the most organized they were the natural leaders, which makes sense for the executing group. This activity really shows how the different strengths can work really well together as one.
