The style went from a complexish design to a very minimalist design. Then Gmail had information about Gmail along the left side. Now it is just the log-in, with the most used Google Apps lining the bottom of the login box. The color scheme has not changed, except for the slight difference in the shade of blue used and the font being used, but that has changed with Google. Now in the login box, above where you enter your username and password, there is a place/placeholder for a profile picture.

Now the code is a lot longer than before. Then there was one tiny section for style. Now there are multiple sections of style, that are very lengthy. Then they used a table. Now they used divs. Now in the login box, above where you enter your username and password, there is a place/placeholder for a profile picture. Now you see some pretty picture, that change occasionally. Then Twitter had a "t" as their logo like Tumblr's now. Now Twitter has a little blue birdy. And like Gmail the shade of blue has changed slightly.

The code got a lot longer as time went on, which is expected due to how much more complex code is becoming. Both then and now code of Twitter has lots of links. The style is way different. Then they had to type it as you went along and had to type it out each time now, it's a one time type kind of thing. Now the code has style separated from the rest of the code.

Now Amazon has the latest and greatest deals on the homepage. Now Amazon only had one sidebar not two. Then they had two sidebars one each side of the page, consuming a good third of the page.
